Pastor Alvin J. Ross Jr. and Lady Carla L. Ross first met while attending New Jerusalem Christian Church which has since become New Heritage Christian Church in October 2004 under the pastorate of Pastor Scott Barkley at a Family and Friends Day service. She was already a member at the time but he was attending after being invited by his brother. Neither one knew at that time what God had already predestined to take place four years later, not even the Pastor could have predicted what the future would bring.

After joining and becoming a member Pastor Ross was active in his new found church home which is when he and Lady Carla began working together with the adult choir with both serving as president and director at various times during the course of the next four years. And after only seeing each other at church services or church events for four seemingly long years God began to manifest Himself in their hearts in January of 2008 at which time they went to their Pastor before service one Sunday morning and told him that they were courting after going out to dinner together the Sunday before along with Lady Carla’s mother Joyce (Mom) Pollard - Kates.

They were united in marriage in August of 2008 in a union that was (Made in Heaven) by God himself, after joining and being active members of two other ministries (True - Worshippers Ministries and New Zion Agape Fellowship Church) over the next eight years after which time God said that it was time to transition into another level on the journey and laid it upon Pastor Ross heart to step out on faith and gave him a name (Deliverance House of Praise Ministries) and a vision.
